Although India have designated hospitals providing free medical care, these institutions do not have the proper equipment or personnel to treat all patients.  The majority of people living in the slums do not have the means to pursue other options. Many of these families are not even able to afford the transportation cost to these medical facilities. With the funds raised, free medical service was brought to their communities. A local Doctor was hired to check every person who needed attention. The medical camp included medication for treating of common diseases in the area.  Volunteer pre-med students and nurses (from Australia, US and Canada) assisted in the event. Funding was also provided to cover further treatment for those in critical condition.
